It is only a few weeks away from the 2012 MLB All Star Break which means it’s time for the Home run Derby! I happen to love watching the baseballs being launched by the league’s best power hitters who can make a big fly go over 500 feet. Just the excitement of how many home runs one player can hit in a row or in the round is awesome. Even though the rosters have not been picked, the two captains have been announced. National League’s captain is MVP candidate Matt Kemp and for the American League, defending champ Robinson Cano. I expect this year to be very good one, possibly better than the past. I have my projections of who will be selected for each team. Well I know that Josh Hamilton has said he wont be competing this year and another past winner, David Ortiz has also said he will be forgoing the derby which is pretty disappointing considering both of these sluggers can make the derby change drastically. Besides those two, I have not heard any others who have ruled themselves out this year. Without further a due, here are my projections for each team.

N.L.                                                              A.L.

  1. Matt Kemp                                            1. Robinson Cano
  2. Hanley Ramirez                                   2. Prince Fielder
  3. Bryce Harper                                        3. Albert Pujols
  4. Giancarlo Stanton                               4. Jose Bautista

Now some of my predictions are a little far-fetched like Bryce Harper but it could happen. The derby should really be a close contest throughout the rounds and I cannot wait to watch. On to my prediction to win! I defiantly think that no matter who the competition is, Robinson Cano will win and defend his title. Tell me what you think in the comments and maybe give me some feedback on my writing. As for now we will have to wait to see how the Home Run Derby turns out. Thank you for reading and have a great day! Recommend to your friends.
